Professor Tyler is the Chadwick Professor of Civil Engineering, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UCL and Pro-Provost, South and South-East Asia.
Nick’s research portfolio amounts to some £20 million in funding from Research Councils, industry and government. He has developed a line of research which is leading the world in the evaluation of built environments in terms of actual measurable impacts on humans, including the use of biomechanical, physiological and neurological sensors.
Nick is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Transport Research Foundation. He was appointed a CBE in the 2011 New Year’s Honours for services to technology.
