GOSH Paediatric Dermatology Course

Day 1 – Basic Paediatric Dermatology

Aimed at anyone wanting teaching or a refresher course in diagnosis and management of common conditions seen in primary and secondary care. Suitable for Paediatricians, Dermatologists and GPs. This day will focus on diagnosis, up to date management, and practical guidelines for success in treatment. Topics will include:

  • Bacterial infections
  • Viral exanthemata
  • Infestations
  • Neonatal eruptions
  • Common birthmarks
  • Update on eczema management
  • Signs of systemic disease not to be missed
  • Hair and nail disorders
  • Drug reactions
  • Management of Acne
Day 2 – Advanced Paediatric Dermatology

Aimed at anyone wanting more in-depth teaching or a refresher course in rarer and more serious conditions seen in primary, secondary and tertiary care. Suitable for Paediatricians, Dermatologists, GPs with a special interest, and Clinical Geneticists. This day will focus on diagnosis, genetic basis of disease, new treatments and investigations, and practical guidelines for management. Topics will include:

  • Blistering conditions
  • Connective tissue disorders
  • DNA fragility/repair defects
  • Ectodermal dysplasias
  • Epidermal naevi
  • RASopathies
  • Ichthyosis and other keratinisation disorders
  • Papulosquamous disorders
  • Pigmentary disorders
  • Proteus syndrome and related disorders
  • Langerhans cell histiocytosis
  • Mastocytosis
  • Melanocytic naevi
  • Vascular malformations
  • Mosaicism in Paediatric Dermatology
